About the Role: The Junior AV Technician is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for operating and providing technical support for all audio/visual (AV) components and technology equipment in conference rooms, including display types, codecs, microphones, and control systems, while ensuring that all conference rooms are outfitted with appropriate audiovisual and technology components based on room size and functionality requirements, which may include systems for audio and video conference calls, PC‑based presentations, intranet/internet wireless connections, and in‑room amplification. The role will be located in our London office and may offer a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in‑office presence.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all audiovisual and technology equipment and applications in conference rooms are functioning and ready for use in advance of scheduled meetings (e.g., computers, displays, codecs).
- Performing daily checks of conference rooms to ensure all equipment is working properly, and coordinating with audiovisual technology vendors and/or other members of the Technology and Workplace Experience team when repairs or maintenance are required.
- Operating conference room equipment when necessary, including starting video conference calls, setting camera and microphone positions, and transitioning through presentations.
- Monitoring the firm’s conference room dashboard and proactively ensuring that technology, AV, and videoconferencing (VC) needs are met.
- Providing additional end‑user technical support as needed, including laptop connectivity issues, docking, printing, and displaying in conference rooms.
Qualifications:
- Possess knowledge of videoconferencing and meeting support technologies, including control systems (Extron, Crestron), video systems, audio conferencing solutions, audio digital signal processors (DSPs), Bi‑Amp systems, microphones, speakers, and projection equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft and Mac technology support as it relates to audiovisual and videoconferencing systems.
- Exhibit knowledge of working with information technology (IT) and networking products.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An associate’s degree or equivalent in a technology‑related field, preferably.
- Certifications from manufacturers, such as Extron or Crestron, and industry organisations, such as AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or CMP, preferably.
- Technology support experience with PC hardware and software.
