Latham & Bond HR are recruiting for our client, a leading automotive manufacturing business based in Swindon, to appoint a Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role for an experienced finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a strategic impact.

The Head of Finance will oversee all aspects of the finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership. You will manage a team of four and work closely with the senior leadership team to drive financial performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the finance department, ensuring strong financial governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and long-term forecasts.
  • Provide commercial and strategic insight to the senior management team to inform business decisions.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, cost controls, and financial risk management.
  • Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in finance systems and processes.
  • Lead and support a finance team including Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Management Accounts, and Finance Assistants.
  • Oversee tax, VAT, and payroll compliance.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial analysis and business performance insights.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and contribute to strategic business planning.
  • Analytical mindset with strong commercial acumen.
  • Comfortable in a hands-on finance leadership role in a fast-moving environment.
