Latham & Bond HR are currently supporting a manufacturing client in their search for a Senior Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for maintaining company quality expectations through compliance with policies, system procedures, work instructions, and specifications. The position also involves working closely with teams to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards while acting as an indirect supervisor for a production team with a focus on specific customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) Manager in maintaining and improving the Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety management systems.
- Assist with the improvement of documented system procedures, work instructions, and forms, ensuring availability on the company intranet or at point of use.
- Provide support in the Advanced Product Quality Planning process.
- Monitor, analyse, and report company performance measures within production processes while maintaining the company reject database for NCRs.
- Liaise with other departments, customers, and external providers to support inspection expertise and continuous improvements, including 5S activities, problem-solving, performance tools, and risk assessments.
- Support workshop-based data collection and improvement teams to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist senior management in reviewing Bills of Materials to optimise cost-effectiveness in remanufacturing programmes.
- Administer risk assessments, including noise survey programmes.
- Represent the Regional QEHS Manager in their absence.
- Maintain and oversee the calibration system.
- Organise departmental workload and manage holiday planning to ensure adequate staffing.
- Provide input into annual team reviews and monitor team productivity efficiency.
- Liaise with relevant departments regarding breakdowns and conduct sediment testing.
Requirements
- Experience in auditing, with certifications in one or more of the following:
- ISO IATF 16949 Auditor
- BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Auditor
- ISO 14001:2015 Auditor
- BS OHSAS 18001 Auditor
