Latham & Bond HR are recruiting for our client, a leading automotive manufacturing business based in Swindon, to appoint a Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role for an experienced finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a strategic impact.
The Head of Finance will oversee all aspects of the finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership. You’ll manage a team of four and work closely with the senior leadership team to drive financial performance across the business.
- Lead the finance department, ensuring strong financial governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and long-term forecasts.
- Provide commercial and strategic insight to the senior management team to inform business decisions.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, cost controls, and financial risk management.
- Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in finance systems and processes.
- Lead and support a finance team including Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Management Accounts, and Finance Assistants.
- Oversee tax, VAT, and payroll compliance.
- Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial analysis and business performance insights.
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the automotive or manufacturing sector. Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and contribute to strategic business planning. Analytical mindset with strong commercial acumen. Comfortable in a hands-on finance leadership role in a fast-moving environment.
