This is a rare opportunity for an experienced freight professional who is ready to step into a senior leadership role with genuine progression. The position would suit an Operations Manager, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or General Manager looking to take the next step and, subject to performance, assume full responsibility for the business.

The role:

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will play a central role in driving commercial growth, improving operational performance, and shaping the future direction of the business. You’ll have hands-on involvement across road, sea, and air freight, combining leadership, sales, and operational oversight.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day freight operations across all modes
  • Supporting and guiding a small operations and sales team
  • Identifying, winning, and developing new commercial opportunities
  • Improving margins through effective pricing and supplier negotiation

About you:

You’ll be a commercially minded freight forwarding professional with the confidence and capability to lead from the front. You will bring:

  • Strong experience in UK road, European trailer, and international freight forwarding
  • Background with a UK based freight forwarder - essential
  • A solid understanding of freight suppliers and carrier networks
  • Proven ability to negotiate with customers and suppliers to maximise profit
