The Role
As an Area Sales Engineer within our Filtration Sales Team, you will manage and grow a defined North West territory. You’ll work with existing customers while actively developing new business opportunities across industries such as:
- Pharmaceutical
- Fine Chemical
- Food & Beverage
- General Engineering
You’ll take a consultative approach, understanding customer applications and specifications to recommend the most effective filtration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow existing customer accounts while identifying new business opportunities
- Proactively generate appointments and work to a structured sales plan
- Manage quotations and build strong, long-term customer relationships
- Carry out full site surveys and identify sales opportunities
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to deliver optimal solutions
- Provide customers with up-to-date product and technical information
- Attend and contribute to sales meetings and reviews
- Plan, manage, and prioritise daily activities effectively
- Maintain accurate reporting of weekly sales activity and pipeline
- Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service
- Adhere to company procedures and support the smooth running of the sales function
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3+ years’ experience in a sales role (technical or industrial sales preferred)
- Confident communicator, able to engage at all levels of an organisation
- Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently with team support
- Strong organisation, time management, and reporting skills
- Good IT skills: SAP, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills with clear report writing ability
- Full, clean (or near‑clean) UK driving licence
