My client a global Environmental Consultancy are looking for Senior and Principal Ecologists to join their team based in the Greater Manchester Area.
The Role:
- Provide technical guidance, organising, and carrying out ecological surveys, such as protected species surveys and extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys.
- Preparing bids for various projects, as well as surveys of protected species, flora, and environment.
- Contribute to various ecological deliverables such as: EIAs (Ecological Impact Assessments), EMPs (Preliminary Ecological Appraisals), EMPs (Ecological Management Plans), Reports on Protected Species, European Protected Species licence applications, and HRAs (Habitats Regulations Assessments).
- Project management and client relations.
- Supplying guidance and instruction to the larger environmental team.
The successful applicant will have:
- A membership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and an acceptable academic degree in a related field (full membership can be attained through mentorship).
- License(s) for protected species or other specialised knowledge relevant to ecological consulting.
- Experience conducting protected species surveys, extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys, and fee quotations and tender creation.
- Knowledge of entering data into technical ecological reports Authoring chapters on biodiversity and ecological impact assessments to be included in environmental statements.
- It is preferred if you have experience managing medium- to large-scale initiatives and projects.
- The capacity to collaborate with ecologists and other environmental experts in a team.
- Understanding of pertinent laws pertaining to wildlife and ecological survey techniques.
- A desire to enhance your fundamental expertise in project management, ecology, and consulting.
