Landscape Gardener required to work around the Southend area.
Please note: Monday to Friday and you must have your own transport and site-based outdoor work.
The role:
We are looking for a reliable Landscape Gardener to undertake landscaping and garden maintenance projects across Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding areas. Working on residential and commercial properties, you will help create and maintain attractive outdoor spaces, completing work to a high standard and providing a professional service to customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare ground, improve soil and lay turf. Plant trees, shrubs, flowers and hedges. Carry out mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, weeding and general garden maintenance.
- Assist with hard landscaping, including patios, paving, fencing, decking and garden edging. Use gardening tools and powered equipment safely.
- Load, unload and move materials, keeping work areas clean and tidy.
- Follow project instructions and agreed schedules.
- Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Follow health and safety procedures and report equipment faults.
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven previous experience in landscaping, gardening or grounds maintenance.
- A practical understanding of planting, lawn care and seasonal maintenance.
- Experience using common gardening tools and machinery safely.
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
- Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Ability to undertake the physical duties of the role, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel to sites across Southend and surrounding areas.
- A full UK driving licence, particularly where driving a company vehicle is required.
