IT Software Engineer / Dev required to work on a Hybrid System. My client is based in Gravesend so you must be able to get into Gravesend/Kent, once or twice a week.
Job Purpose: One of the key operational systems the team is responsible for is the in-house Port Management system. This software is written in the lo-code framework, Uniface. Uniface skills are not required (as very niche) as training will be provided, however you must be willing to learn this skillset.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take business requirements from conception to implementation utilising the Uniface platform and the underlying SQL server infrastructure.
- Support the development of and adhere to robust software development governance including, but not limited to, maintaining high quality version control and appropriate associated documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve problems in a professional and timely manner, including providing 3rd line technical support.
Skills required:
- 8+ yearsβ hands-on experience in developing and supporting business applications in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience of supporting and maintaining a SQL database server environment and associated database management.
- Technically proficient understanding of server-infrastructure, networking infrastructure, and cyber security infrastructure.
- Able to influence and negotiate at an individual, team and team to team level, with excellent customer-service skills.
- To learn and pick up other Technologies and the ability to digest new skills is essential.
- Degree in an IT, computer science, software development related discipline.
This position comes with good benefits and this is a Monday - Friday/35 hrs working week so typically 9am-5pm - 8am-4pm (flexible WH) with an hour for lunch.
