Latch and Batchelor is a UK-based specialist supplier and manufacturer of high performance special wire ropes designed for Mobile Cranes, Tower Cranes, Crawler Cranes, Piling Rigs, Port Cranes, Overhead Cranes, Mining, Haulage, Structural, and General Engineering applications. The company operates a modern 1,000m² Service Centre for crane ropes, enabling efficient order processing with same-day or next-day delivery available within the UK. Additionally, Latch and Batchelor provide advanced splicing services, including hand splicing and socketing, tailored to customer requirements. Our facilities also feature an indoor 110-meter pre-stretching range with a 70-tonne capacity.
This is a full-time, remote based role for a Sales Manager selling Steel Wire Ropes in the UK and Ireland. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing sales operations by executing strategic sales plans to meet company revenue targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Identifying and building relationships with customers
- Negotiating contracts
- Managing client accounts
- Identifying market opportunities
The role also involves working closely with other teams to align sales strategies with production and delivery timelines, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with experience in account management and business development
- Knowledge of the wire rope industry, lifting industry or related technical and engineering fields
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders
- Proficiency in sales software, CRM systems, and data analysis to track and improve sales performance
- Proven organizational and strategic planning skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Previous experience in a sales or managerial role in manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferred
- Ability to work remotely, travel to meet clients as required and occasionally on site in Birmingham
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory
