Market Manager (North America and Caribbean) The purpose of this role is to account manage hotels, driving relationships to achieve profitable sales, and hit margin targets. The ideal candidate will be a relationship-powerhouse, an excellent communicator, and have the ability to negotiate naturally. In addition, the candidate should be motivated by having clear financial targets and must enjoy contributing to the culture of a small, fun, dynamic team. This role requires an individual whose dual skill-set could paint the following picture (preferably in lastminute.com magenta colours!): An Administrative Powerhouse – The ideal candidate will be someone who can keep on top of multiple work-flows, can analyse data from numerous reporting sources and who maintains attention to detail under pressure. This role has little administrative support. The successful candidate will not only make the decisions, but will act upon them as well. There is a significant use of various internal systems and an aptitude for learning multiple systems is a must. A Relationship-master-builder – An excellent communicator who can ensure lastminute.com have enduring alliances and friendships in the trade; happy to spend plenty of time out of the office or on the phone making a personal difference- the successful candidate will be able to negotiate naturally at all levels. A Deal-Maker Extraordinaire – The ability to source exclusive supply, required by our customers, often against difficult market conditions. Main Responsibilities Responsible for all elements of ongoing account management – maintaining mature accounts, whilst also growing & developing new relationships. Evaluate existing partnerships and determine actions to optimise performance. Contracting new hotels and expanding/exploring potential new markets. Work with suppliers and internal teams to maximise sales & marketing opportunities. Negotiate deals and secure the best commercial terms with hotels. Track and monitor the competitive performance of hotels. Attend relevant trade events & meet with suppliers on a regular basis. Minimum Requirements Experience/knowledge of the key markets (e.g. New York/Las Vegas). Minimum three years experience in online travel agency, hotel or industry related role. A history of account management and the ability to promote long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Travel industry contacts within relevant destination and market. Strong problem-solving, analysis, and planning skills. Ability to present to large groups. Proficiency in Mac, Microsoft office, Google suites and PC applications. Aptitude to learn new systems quickly. Fluent in English, additional languages a plus. University degree level of education.
