As an Asset Inspector, you will provide a comprehensive advisory and support function for the construction and adoption of electricity, gas and water networks that will be taken on by the company. You will carry out site-based inspections and surveys to ensure that Last Mile Asset Management assets are built in accordance with technical and safety standards. This position is based in England and requires travel to sites in both the north and south, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.

Your responsibilities as an Asset Inspector:

  • Carry out inspections, audits and surveys across electricity, gas and water network construction, including substation installation, main laying, cable jointing, mains and service laying, pressure testing and chlorination, ensuring outputs are recorded accurately in business systems.
  • Conduct pre- and post-adoption regulatory inspections in line with industry guidance, technical standards, safety requirements and relevant regulations, identifying and escalating any non-compliance issues.
  • Provide advice and on-site support to Independent Connection Providers, Self-Lay Providers and contractors on health, safety, environmental, quality and best practice matters across multi-utility works.
  • Act as a first point of contact for faults, operational issues, enquiries and variations, liaising with emergency service providers, upstream network operators, water companies and internal and external stakeholders to support timely resolution.
  • Maintain safe working practices, attend coordination meetings where required, manage routine correspondence and prepare monthly reports covering completed inspections, audits, issues and trends.
  • Ensure any Defect during construction is notified and closed out by the ICP in a timely manner.
