Our Sales team is growing, and we are excited to welcome a talented Business Development Manager (Non-AV) to join us. As a Business Development Manager (Non-AV), you will be based at one of the Last Mile offices and will support work across the country. You will play an important role in identifying and developing new pipeline opportunities and enquiries, helping to secure assets for the company to design, build, own and operate within established commercial parameters. You will also contribute to the delivery of exceptional customer service through clear communication, consistency, value creation and strong project outcomes.
Your responsibilities as a Business Development Manager (Non-AV):
- Generate New Business Opportunities: Proactively identify, develop, and qualify new pipeline opportunities for non-AV Last Mile adoptable developments, using internal systems to track activity and convert interest into formal enquiries.
- Build and Manage Client Relationships: Maintain strong, trust-based customer relationships through regular, proactive communication, ensuring clarity, confidence, and a positive client experience throughout the engagement.
- Coordinate Enquiries and Quotation Processes: Validate client requirements, manage expectations, and prepare high-level budget quotations to support feasibility studies. Create project references in simPRO and provide full instructions to Technical Coordinators and Designers to begin detailed quotations.
- Issue and Manage Proposals: Deliver formal quotations and letters of offer, follow up for feedback, and lead client discussions to review and clarify proposals, including negotiation and coordination of requotes where needed.
- Oversee Contract Acceptance and Internal Communication: Acknowledge signed contracts, inform clients of next steps, and distribute acceptance updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment ahead of project delivery stages.
- Lead Handover Activities: Arrange and lead Winners Meetings within 48 hours of contract acceptance, addressing team queries and completing a thorough handover to Design Approval and Operations to initiate project delivery.
Experience:
- Experience in a similar B2B role ideally within the utility connections, construction or a similar sector.
- Experienced at successfully managing a portfolio of customers with full account management.
- Evidence of previous sales positions and targets achieved.
The successful candidate will be resilient, determined, tenacious, adaptable, and results-focused, with strong IT literacy and experience using Microsoft Office tools. They will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
