Our Water team is expanding, and we are excited to welcome a skilled Pressure Tester & Chlorinator of Water Mains to join us.
As a Pressure Tester & Chlorinator of Water Mains at UKPS, you will carry out pressure testing and chlorination of newly installed water mains, ensuring water networks are delivered safely, professionally, and to the highest standards in line with UKPS WIRS Method Statements. We are looking for candidates based in the Midlands, such as Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton, or Stoke-On-Trent. While most tasks will be scheduled within a two-hour radius of your home, there may be occasions when travel further afield is required, including overnight stays.

Your responsibilities as a Pressure Tester & Chlorinator of Water Mains:
- Carry out pressure testing, chlorination, flushing, swabbing, and sampling of new water mains installations, ensuring compliance with all legislative and company standards.
- Operate and maintain specialist equipment, including pressure pumps, flow meters, dosing units, and test kits, while upholding water mains hygiene procedures.
- Diagnose and assist with leak repairs, install domestic water meters, and liaise with developers and contractors to deliver a first-class service.
- Maintain accurate records of work, comply with Health & Safety policies, complete risk assessments, and ensure sites are left clean, safe, and compliant.
- Represent UKPS professionally, attend training and meetings, promote high standards of workmanship and safety, and undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Minimum 3 years operational experience in the water industry
- NJUG understanding
- Relevant industry certifications, including EUSR SHEA Water, Water Hygiene Card, NCO (Water) Service and Main Laying Level 2, and NCO (Gas) for main and service laying (up to 315mm).
- Additional competencies such as CP Competent Person for SCMC work, valid EUSR or ECS card.
- Full UK driving licence, First Aid certification, and ideally NRSWA Operator certification.
