The Hotel Folk has a fantastic opportunity for a Spa Manager to join the friendly team based at The Swan at Lavenham Hotel and Spa. This is a very rare opportunity, as the current amazing Spa Manager is leaving after 10 wonderful years and the other team members all show longevity. The team are friendly, warm and therefore the working environment is great.
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Spa Manager to lead daily operations, inspire our spa team, and drive business growth while maintaining outstanding service standards. This role combines leadership, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of the wellness industry. If you can lead by example and power your positivity into a successful spa business whilst being dedicated to the smallest of details this role is a perfect fit for you. Someone professional, but warm, a great leader but always approachable and passionate about the Spa in every way.
Weavers House Spa is an award winning 5 Bubble boutique spa on the North Essex/Suffolk border located in the beautiful town of Lavenham. This luxury hideaway is a favourite amongst many locals, as well as guests staying at The Swan at Lavenham Hotel and Spa. This contemporary spa boasts an exclusivity, with a no rush - no crowd policy. With 6 treatment rooms, 2 relaxation lounges, an outdoor vitality pool and a steam and sauna heat suite, along with a spa menu promising holistic wellbeing.
To support the growth of our Spa you must have hands-on experience performing both holistic therapies and beauty maintenance treatments, with the ability to step in and support the team when required.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day spa operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences
- Lead, motivate, and develop therapists and front-of-house staff
- Manage staff scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews
- Manage inventory control of stock holding, reporting and ordering in line with cost of sale/budgets
- Drive revenue growth through strategic marketing/promotions, membership programs, and retail sales
- Manage and optimise in-house training to ensure continuity of treatment excellence
- Monitor budgets, payroll, and financial performance to meet profitability targets
- Maintaining business retention of clientele through existing business and new
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Handle client feedback professionally and proactively with priority
- Proven experience in luxury spa, wellness, or hospitality management
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Strong practical knowledge of both holistic therapies (e.g. massage, aromatherapy, body treatments and facials) and beauty maintenance services (e.g. manicure, pedicure, waxing)
- Ability to support, guide, and assess therapists across both treatment areas
- Knowledge of spa treatments and retail products
