As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Storytelling Editor to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect. At Larian, storytelling is core to our identity. As we prepare for our next chapter, we’re looking to bring the best storytellers from every medium together in a dedicated department. Different disciplines, different backgrounds, different voices, all contributing to the outstanding narratives of our next projects for decades to come.
This role will be offered as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract of Employment, with scope to be extended or converted in future.
Responsibilities- Managing Storytelling projects at various stages of development
- Collaborating with external narrative designers, writers, and game developers
- Providing narrative guidance for Larian’s writers, scripters, and designers
- Working with the lore team to ensure everything is in sync
- Providing creative support on the Storytelling team’s various projects
- Exceptional editing and writing skills
- Published work, whether as a developer, a critic, a novelist, or in another role
- Proven experience in developing complex narrative structures within the games industry
- Strong organizational skills
- In-depth knowledge of the RPG genre
- Preference for candidates with established Narrative Design expertise in complex video games
- Experience with RPG formats beyond video games
- Proficiency with project management software (Miro, Jira, Google Sheets, Trello, etc)
- Experience and knowledge of the Divinity franchise
- Experience working in movies, comics, books, etc
- An international team of over 500 employees spread across 7 studios around the world, each of which have their own unique qualities, and maintain a small-studio feel
- An open, collaborative environment where ideas are welcome and encouraged
- A managerial team consisting of highly experienced game developers at the top of their fields
