As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Level Designer to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.
Responsibilities
- Build white box versions of areas after consulting with all relevant parties.
- Handoff areas to environment art, scripting, combat and cinematics while helping them elevate the experience.
- Finalize areas for shipping.
- Understand the role an area plays in the composition of the game experience, based on the narrative and design/creative directors briefing.
- Know and apply all features and mechanics that are available to the player for exploration.
- Reserve space for features that are in development but not available yet.
- Be ready to throw away everything you made and start from scratch with a new perspective obtained through previous iterations.
- Fix level design related bugs in your own or other peoples' areas.
- Make sure the level is always playable and ready to go.
Requirements
- A design relevant degree.
- Proven commercial experience in video game level design.
- Ability to work well as part of a distributed, international team.
- An extremely positive can do attitude.
- Ability to give and receive feedback.
- The ability to efficiently communicate designs through 2D mockups or flowcharts.
- Ability to experience the game as a player.
- An RPG gamer with a passion for narrative-driven games.
