Notes: This position does not offer sponsorship and is best suited for candidates already located in Inverness and the Highland area. Due to the needs of the service, this post is only open to female applicants (as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010).

Main purpose of the role:

As a Relief Care and Support worker, you will support people with learning disabilities living in a variety of settings, in line with agreed support and care plans, in all aspects of their everyday lives. You will deliver practical, physical and emotional support to people with learning disabilities, whilst proactively promoting choice, independence and self-determination.

Person Centred Support

You will:

  • Provide high quality support to people with learning disabilities in line with L’Arche values, policies and procedures;
Support of people with learning disabilities

You will:

  • Assist with the personal hygiene, dress and health needs of individuals in their home;
  • Facilitate individuals to meet their leisure, social, practical and spiritual needs;
  • Encourage individuals in their ongoing development of independence;
Building an atmosphere of mutual relationships

You will:

  • Foster positive relationships with both assistants and people with a learning disability;
  • Assist in celebrations and support spiritual life so that there is an atmosphere of welcome and friendship;
