Senior HR Advisor – Lawyers

A standout opportunity for an exceptional HR professional with proven experience supporting the lawyer lifecycle to join one of our most prestigious US law firm clients as a Senior HR Advisor.

  • Salary to £80,000
  • 09:30-17:30 (Monday-Friday)

In this role, you will support Partners, Lawyers, and Practice Group Leaders to deliver comprehensive HR support across the full employee lifecycle – from onboarding and performance management to employee relations and compensation processes.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior HR Advisor:

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for lawyer queries and concerns, addressing ER issues promptly and professionally.
  • Serve as the primary contact for lawyer onboarding (including documentation, background checks, conflicts, induction scheduling etc.)
  • Manage resignation and termination processes.
  • Administer probationary check-ins, meetings, and the annual review process for lawyers, including coaching supervisors on feedback quality and performance expectations.
  • Support performance improvement plans and follow-up actions, including prepare meeting notes, and assist with providing written guidance for development and performance.
  • Assist the Senior HR Manager to project manage the annual compensation and bonus cycle for lawyers.
  • Collaborate with wider HR and Business Services teams in relation to operational excellent across onboarding, reviews, events, and training needs.

Skills & Requirements of the Senior HR Advisor:

  • 5+ years’ HR experience in a similar role within a law firm is essential.
  • Strong experience advising stakeholders and leading employee relations matters for lawyers is required.
  • Prior experience coordinating and advising stakeholders on performance review cycles.
  • Must possess experience of coordinating visa applications and immigration record keeping.
  • Experience working across multiple offices / jurisdictions.
  • Analytical and data-literate; proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with HRIS/LMS platforms (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft) is an advantage.
