Job Description
Risk & Compliance Officer – 9 Month FTC
Join a highly successful Risk & Compliance team at a prestigious global law firm on an initial 9-month fixed-term contract.
- Salary to £45,000 + excellent employee benefits, including GymFlex, private medical insurance and GP services, and more!
- 9-month fixed-term contract
- 9:30am – 5:30pm (Monday-Friday) and hybrid Working (3 days office / 2 days remote)

You will act as a key member of the team, providing support to global offices on all aspects of risk, regulatory compliance, and conflicts.
Risk & Compliance Officer Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in on-boarding new clients and matters and ensuring that all details are correct in accordance with regulatory standards and firm policy
- Conducting client due diligence, reviewing KYC documentation, and undertaking AML and sanctions searches on clients as appropriate and escalating any issues to the MLRO
- Assisting the firm in maintaining a uniform application of engagement terms as well as reviewing, advising on and recording client-imposed term
- Reviewing any changes to the client which may have an impact on client or matter risk and dealing with these in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Compliance reporting, assisting in the production of spreadsheets to monitor client and matter inception process status
- Undertaking research and other projects as needed to improve matter inception, policy, and process
- Assisting Risk Lawyers in preparation of annual internal file audits
Risk & Compliance Officer Skills & Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a compliance function, with AML experience, within a law firm
- The capability, after training, if necessary, to identify conflicts and risk within a law firm
- Demonstrated ability to work within a framework of regulatory compliance
- Law Degree or GDL qualification
