Legal Team Leader – Birmingham

Our international law firm client is seeking a Legal Team Leader to join their energetic and fast-paced Legal Delivery Centre in Birmingham on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

Due to the firm’s ongoing ever-expanding growth, they are on the lookout for someone to join the management team and provide hands on day-to-day supervision and project management of the firm’s paralegal teams on all projects, including document review and due diligence projects.

Legal Team Leader Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise teams of paralegals on multiple projects, including briefing the paralegals to ensure they understand the instructions provided, allocation of work, quality checking work, dealing with queries and general day to day supervision as well as having pastoral and professional development conversations.
• Ensure projects meet their given deadlines and are within their cost estimates, to ensure the client's needs and expectations are met and managed at all times.
• Assist with preparation of briefing notes and worked examples, as required.
• Coordinate work with outside vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines.
• Help develop own and the team's practical knowledge and experience with legal technology tools, such as those used for automated contract review and contract drafting.

Legal Team Lead Skills & Requirements:

• UK or Foreign Qualified Solicitor (with a current practicing certificate) or CILEX lawyer.
• Experience in supervision of paralegals, whether on a temporary or permanent basis is essential.
• Previous experience in multiple disciplines, for example Litigation and Corporate or Real Estate practice areas would be a distinct advantage.
