A large global law firm is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join their IT team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure, the Microsoft 365 (M365) ecosystem, and Cisco networking technologies.
Salary up to £75,000
9:30am to 6:00pm working hours

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a security-first mindset, and experience operating in a professional services or legal environment where uptime, confidentiality, and performance are critical.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure, including virtual networks, compute resources, storage, identity, and security services.
- Administer and optimize the Microsoft 365 stack, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Intune.
- Implement and maintain Cisco networking solutions, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure, as well as Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security platforms.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex infrastructure and networking issues.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement best practices for data protection, compliance, and threat mitigation.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform.
- Support hybrid cloud environments, including integration between on-premises systems and Azure services.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, identity).
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration and architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (e.g., Catalyst, Nexus, ASA, Meraki) and Palo Alto Networks platforms (e.g., PAN-OS, Prisma Access).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience with identity and access management, including SSO and MFA.
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to legal environments (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
