Our prestigious US law firm client are seeking to hire an experienced Senior Billing Coordinator to join their London team. Offering a salary up to £65,000 with superb employee benefits including free in-office meals and stunning offices close to Chancery Lane. The firm operates on a hybrid working structure of 4 days in the office and 1 from home.
Experienced Legal Biller with a minimum of 3 years' experience required. Reporting to the Billing Manager and working in a London finance team of 9, the Senior Billing Coordinator will collaborate with lawyers, secretaries, and other international billing and finance team members to provide support in all aspects of the production and finalisation of invoices for the London and international offices.
The duties for the Billing Coordinator include:
- Dealing with and resolving all queries as necessary, having a good knowledge of the SRA regulations and UK VAT regulations.
- Checking bills for accuracy and returning them to Partners and secretaries for dispatch.
- Updating the Elite from Fee-earners’ input.
- Checking all details for accuracy, e.g. matter numbers, dates, rates.
- Monitoring and maintaining the security of the system and data.
- Updating the firm's billing system with partner and fee-earners' input or liaising with Finance to complete related activities.
- Interfacing with client contacts as necessary to enable client billings.
- Building effective relationships with clients.
- Dealing with client queries, e.g. regarding breakdown of fees and disbursements, timing of bills sent out, and resolving to encourage prompt payment.
- Collaborating with Partners to maximise billing and clear non-billable time to ensure WIP reports are accurate.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly reports for clients.
- Coordination of invoicing of clients using e-billing.
Suitable Billing Coordinator candidates will need to have a minimum of 3 years' experience of working in a high volume billing position in a law firm, preferably using Elite / 3e. Strong Excel knowledge is also essential.
