Leading international law firm in the City is seeking a qualified Law Costs Draftsman to join their friendly and dynamic Costs team in London, who has experience of all aspects of both inter partes costs and solicitor/client costs work.
Salary to £70,000 DOE. Generous hybrid working pattern of 50/50. Fantastic employee benefits. St Pauls / City Thameslink.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of inter partes and solicitor/client costs matters
- Draft high-quality bills of costs, points of dispute, and replies
- Provide clear, reasoned costs advice to fee earners and the wider business
- Negotiate costs effectively, including paying party work
- Monitor performance, outcomes, and cashflow to maximise recovery
- Liaise professionally with external providers and third parties
- Keep up to date with developments in costs law and procedure
- Qualified Costs Lawyer preferred, though not essential, with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE in costs work
- Proven experience across all aspects of inter partes and solicitor/client costs matters
- Excellent technical and legal knowledge of costs law, including arbitration and international arbitration procedures
- Strong drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to provide thorough, well-reasoned costs advice and detailed analysis
