Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Accountant (Europe) to join its team and play a key role in delivering accurate, well-documented financial reporting, applying sound judgment across accounting and tax matters, and partnering with colleagues across the wider Finance function.

Lead Accountant – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Prepare and review reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items promptly
  • Produce management reports, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial reporting for the Director of Finance, Europe & Asia
  • Prepare VAT calculations and supporting documentation for European offices, ensuring accurate and timely filings
  • Support statutory accounts, tax returns, audits, and related deliverables, liaising with external advisers and auditors as required
  • Monitor tax, VAT, and statutory compliance deadlines across European and international offices
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-supported accounting records for selected international offices
  • Review financial reporting controls and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
  • Keep up to date with relevant accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements affecting European operations
  • Collaborate with Finance colleagues on accounting and tax matters across offices in Europe and Asia, including London, Dublin, Paris, Milan, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore
  • Support Pillar Two reporting and other tax compliance requirements
  • Contribute to ad hoc Finance projects, including new office openings and other business initiatives

Lead Accountant – What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified and experienced Accountant with strong financial accounting, controls, and reporting experience, ideally gained within a law firm
  • Comfortable taking ownership of complex reconciliations, statutory accounts, and tax deliverables
  • Sound judgement and the ability to make informed decisions on complex accounting and tax matters
