Senior Compliance Manager – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support the firm's Compliance function (including the COO, London Managing Partner, COLP, COFA, MLRO and DPO) on all compliance, risk management and regulatory matters, driving continuous improvement of systems, controls and processes
- Develop, implement and maintain the firm's compliance policies, procedures and risk management framework in line with regulatory requirements and best practice
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, including investigations, information requests, data protection enquiries and Subject Access Requests
- Monitor regulatory and market developments, ensuring attorneys and staff remain informed of relevant changes and compliance obligations
- Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments, identifying key risks, recommending improvements and overseeing remediation
- Deliver and coordinate compliance training and promote a strong culture of regulatory compliance across the firm
- Maintain systems for recording, investigating and reporting breaches, near misses and client complaints, ensuring appropriate escalation to regulators where required in consultation with the relevant function holders
- Maintain expert knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, benchmark the firm's compliance framework against market best practice and maintain the London office engagement letter
Senior Compliance Manager – What We’re Looking For:
- Law firm experience in a similar compliance role
- Good knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations, AML rules and procedures, data protection legislation, KYC processes
- Maintains the highest professional standards to ensure the firm is not in a position of risk
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners and the management team to resolve any client conflicts and to ensure acceptable outcomes
- Good IT skills and knowledge are essential
