Major global law firm is seeking a senior specialist position for a Deputy Head of Risk to join their London office on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

Deputy Head of Risk – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the firm's day-to-day AML and financial crime compliance processes
  • Act as the key escalation point for AML, sanctions, and financial crime matters, supporting partners and fee earners
  • Oversee and support the Business Acceptance Team, providing guidance and training on regulatory requirements
  • Advise on sanctions compliance and support the MLRO with law enforcement and regulatory engagement
  • Ensure compliance with evolving AML legislation, policies, and best practice
  • Lead the firm's annual AML Risk Assessment and Independent AML Audit

Deputy Head of Risk – What We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive experience working in Business Acceptance within a law firm
  • Strong technical understanding of UK AML regulations and financial crime obligations within a legal context
  • Experience in supporting or delivering AML risk assessments, audits or regulatory reviews
  • Skilled at interpreting complex information, identifying risks, and forming evidence-based recommendations
  • Significant experience in AML, financial crime, risk, or compliance
  • Proven experience in a Senior or Supervisory role
