The Opportunity
Technology underpins how our clients deliver their services and run their organisations and as a result, they face many new opportunities and challenges associated with this digital transformation (for example moving to the cloud, securing their networks and infrastructure, or adopting new technologies). Wavestone’s role is to help our clients to introduce new approaches to address these opportunities and challenges through engagements such as defining strategies, performing risk assessments, managing projects/programmes, sourcing vendors or conducting cost‑benefit analyses.
Tech Advisory Topics We Cover in the UK
- IT strategy and risks: Lead IT Blueprints and Strategic frameworks and Development of Enterprise Architecture function (IT strategy and strategic roadmaps, Transformation & Target operating model, IT risk).
- Cloud and Infrastructure: Frame and Steer deployment of cloud‑based IT architectures (Cloud adoption & Infra transformation, FinOps & AI Ops, Tech debt, DataCentre & Cloud exit strategy, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Managing engagements (totally or partially depending on your level of experience) with our clients, responsible for the day to day running of the engagements, including developing strategic recommendations and guidance, and ensuring the highest quality service for our clients.
- Participating in the business development activity of the office which will include full lifecycle from pre‑sales support, identification of tech advisory opportunities & scope the delivery phase of engagements.
- Participating in the people development by sharing knowledge, mentoring, and coaching team members and leading by example.
- Collaborating with the wider team in order to contribute towards the practice development by creating thought leadership and marketing materials for selling and promoting our offerings.
- Continuing to upskill and stay current with the market.
- Contributing to various internal activities (Career development, Thought leadership, etc.).
Qualifications
- Solid foundations in consulting skills with 3‑10 years’ experience in external client‑facing consulting or equivalent role (IT, management, or tech advisory focused consulting).
- Proven background leading digital transformation programmes both operational and strategic.
- Good technical understanding to bring credibility to advisory work.
- Proven track record of supporting business development activities (account planning, pitches, proposals, value proposition development).
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of an organisation, experience in managing and leading teams, developing and coaching junior members of staff.
- Skills to create and deliver meaningful presentations with an impact and produce high quality reports.
- Comprehensive knowledge of at least 4 of the following Tech advisory topics: IT strategy, Target Operating model, IT risks, Cloud adoption, IT op‑excellence, FinOps / AI Ops, Technical debt, Network security, Automation, Workplace technology, Change adoption, Sustainable tech.

Travel and Location
