Merseyside Recycling & Waste Authority (MRWA) is seeking the services of a Project Support Officer to assist with a significant stage in its development. Reporting directly to the Project Manager and working alongside another Project Support Officer, this will be a crucial role in supporting our future waste services procurement programme.
Key areas of work will include:
- Implementing and maintaining appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling of project activities.
- Establishing and maintaining project controls.
- Preparing project performance reports.
- Maintaining the procurement database (portal).
- Liaising with bidders and managing clarification questions.
About You:
You will have a sound knowledge of all relevant IT applications including Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You will possess a professional and personable demeanour, with the ability to navigate between competing priorities. You will be a diligent operator and effective communicator with excellent organisation skills and attention to detail. You will already possess or be keen to acquire a well-rounded knowledge of the ever-developing waste sector.
Previous experience required includes:
- Working as a member of a large project team, or as a project manager for a small, low complexity project.
- Monitoring resources and budgets.
- Creating and maintaining project or programme delivery plans, so that delivery, progress, costs, and benefits can be identified and managed.
- Building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as project managers and business owners; including the identification of risks, issues, and dependencies and seeking agreements/trade-offs to keep delivery on track.
