This is a fantastic chance to be part of the team responsible for introducing a new recycling and waste collection service, including the introduction of mandated food waste collections as part of the government's Simpler Recycling requirements.
You will help deliver these major service changes to help our residents further reduce their waste and drive up recycling across the borough. It will consist of resolving on-site issues, responding to enquiries, service requests and monitoring service standards to ensure safe, efficient operations and high standards are maintained. Regular site visits and monitoring of collections rounds is a crucial part of the role.
We are looking for a customer focused, enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our small friendly team. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to liaise effectively with a range of organisations, provide mediation and to make decisions. Great information technology and written communication skills are also a must. You must be passionate about recycling and will need to have basic knowledge of the waste industry and an understanding of the key aspects of working with the public. You should have experience of changing the way things are done.
