Requirements
- We are looking for around 3+ years of commercial software development experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to work effectively at this level.
- We need strong experience with PHP and My SQL.
- We need experience with Laravel, Symfony, or another modern PHP framework.
- We need a good understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- We need experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- We need experience developing or integrating REST APIs.
- We need experience with automated testing, ideally PHPUnit or similar.
- We need an understanding of the software development lifecycle from requirements through to release.
- We need the ability to understand and work confidently within an established codebase.
- We need good problem-solving and communication skills.
- We need confidence contributing ideas while being open to feedback and different approaches.
- We need a collaborative, positive attitude and willingness to take responsibility for your work.
- We would like you to be familiar with AI coding tools and best practices.
Responsibilities
- We develop and maintain functionality within our Saa S platform.
- We work primarily with PHP, My SQL and Java Script-based technologies.
- We develop and integrate with REST APIs and third-party services.
- We investigate and resolve defects and production issues.
- We contribute to the ongoing modernisation of our application and framework.
- We collaborate closely with developers, Product Managers and QA.
- We contribute to planning, technical discussions and solution design.
- We take ownership of work from development through testing and release.
- We raise technical risks, questions or blockers early.
- We help the squad deliver high-quality software predictably and sustainably.
- We write clear, maintainable and appropriately tested code.
- We participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.
- We apply sound software engineering principles without unnecessary complexity.
- We help identify technical debt and opportunities to improve existing code.
- We learn from experienced engineers and share knowledge with the wider team.
