Laravel / PHP Software Engineer
Location: Norwich, 5 days on‑site

Overview
A software business that designs and builds bespoke systems for its customers is seeking a Laravel / PHP Software Engineer to take projects from first conversation through to live installation and beyond. Working in small project teams of one to three people, you will design and build new Laravel systems from scratch, and maintain existing Laravel and PHP systems and MySQL databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements and write clear specifications.
- Design systems, including a user interface that is efficient and logical for users and matches their requirements.
- Build new systems in Laravel and PHP with MySQL databases.
- Produce system documentation.
- Install and deploy systems for customers.
- Test your work, gather feedback and communicate directly with the client.
- Diagnose and fix bugs across new and existing systems.
- Deliver future enhancements driven by customer needs.
- Maintain and support existing Laravel systems, PHP systems and MySQL databases.
Requirements
- Experience designing and building systems in Laravel.
- Experience of developing PHP systems.
- Experience working with MySQL databases.
- Confident communicating with clients to gather requirements and handle feedback.
- Able to self manage your workload.
- Innovative and forward thinking.
Desirable:
Experience in, or interest in, mobile app development
