Lapland UK is a fast‑growing entertainment business that delivers immersive live Christmas experiences. We are looking for 14 Wardrobe Assistants and 6 Senior Wardrobe Assistants for our Manchester live show, running from 1 November 2026 to 24 December 2026 (with possible extension into January).

Location and Dates

  • Site: Lapland UK Live Site, Manchester – Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield SK1 19JY
  • Start date: 1 November 2026 – End date: 24 December 2026 (extension possible)

Role Overview

The Wardrobe department runs in three sub‑departments: Groups, Principals, and Father Christmas. The role involves dressing 200+ performers each day across 15 costume designs, maintaining continuity and quality for 28 distinct characters, and supporting 50 Father Christmas performers with grooming and costume care. Shifts run AM 6 AM – 3 PM and PM 2:45 PM – 11:45 PM, 7 days a week with 5 days on, 2 days off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dress performers precisely and compassionately.
  • Conduct timely maintenance and keep a detailed log of repairs.
  • Follow laundering, cleaning and refresh schedules between shows.
  • Develop knowledge of costume standards and support Wardrobe Manager and Deputies.
  • Complete set‑up and closing duties to run the department seamlessly.
  • Follow cast lists to apply costumes each day.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems for smooth shift operation.
  • Communicate running and hand‑over notes to Wardrobe Deputies and Assistants.
  • Respond quickly to on‑set wardrobe calls.
  • Attend training days as specified by the Wardrobe Manager.
  • Maintain a supportive and positive wardrobe environment with cast and team.
  • Represent the company in compliance with company policies.

Role Requirements

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Passion for the role and the company.
  • Experience with hand sewing and machine sewing.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience in live theatre.
  • Knowledge of costume maintenance techniques.
  • Experience laundering costumes.
  • Basic or developing knowledge of Excel and Google Drive.

Pay Rate and Benefits

  • £15.85 per hour, plus £50 per working day subsidy.
  • One on‑site meal per working shift.
  • Lapland shuttle bus from local train station to the site.
  • On‑site parking for staff (Manchester only).
  • Holiday paid in full at end of contract, calculated at 12.07 % of total hours worked.
  • £50 subsidy per working day to assist with travel costs.
  • Contract basis: PAYE or Self‑employed.
