University of Southampton is offering a PhD to develop piezoelectric nano-opto-electro-mechanical resonators for low-power neuromorphic and reservoir computing. The project combines MEMS/NEMS with optical displacement readout to realise nonlinear physical reservoir computing devices, including resonator design, cleanroom prototyping and optimization of piezoelectric conversion.
Applicants must hold a 2:1 honours degree or international equivalent, with experience in MEMS/NEMS/NOEMS and cleanroom
