Mathematical Modelling of Poro-Mechanics of Soil
University of Southampton · Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences
England, United Kingdom
30 September 2026; exact cutoff time was not stated on the FindAPhD project page.
About This Opportunity
University of Southampton is offering a PhD to develop mathematical models linking soil mechanics, water flow, plant effects and heterogeneous wetting and drying.
The research will build new poromechanical models for real soils with mixed grain sizes and mineralogy. It focuses on coupled soil mechanics and water flow, plant–soil interactions and spatially or temporally heterogeneous moisture cycles.
