About This Opportunity
The University of York will host three five-year Movember Institute Discovery Research Fellows studying health challenges affecting underserved boys and young men aged 12β35 across Coping & Consumption, Social Connection and Early Fatherhood. Applications close on 19 November 2026 at 22:00 GMT.
These fellowships form part of the Movember Institute of Men's Health Discovery Research Program and are designed to establish independent research leaders working on the health of underserved boys and young men aged 12β35. York will appoint three Fellows across themes including Coping & Consumption, Social Connection and Early Fatherhood. Each fellow will develop a substantial programme of applied health research rather than fill a predefined project-only post, and the funding model includes a linked PhD studentship, research-support allocation and structured professional development. The York cohort is part of an international programme of eleven Fellows across five countries, creating opportunities for cross-site collaboration and comparative work. Professor Paul Galdas will provide local mentorship. The fellowships are expected to generate high-quality academic research as well as outputs accessible to policy, practice and community audiences. Appointments are full time for five years, with an expected start in April 2027, and some remote working may be available within the University's working arrangements.
