Join LANXESS UK as a Mechanical & Process Technician at our Deeside site. We’re seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Mechanical & Process Technician to support our operations. This is a day position, working pattern 7.30-4pm.
Responsibilities
- Scrubber Plant Operation – Safely remove bromine residues from ISO tanks to prepare them for internal inspection and repair.
- Repacking Process – Transfer liquid bromine from bulk containers into 125L drums for distribution to smaller-use customers.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and complete daily performance logs.
- Perform hydrostatic testing of vessels and manage post-test cleaning (confined space entry required).
- Ensure all activities meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Experience / Skills
- Qualified with 4+ GCSEs including English, Maths, and Science, plus a Level 2 City & Guilds (or equivalent) in chemical process operations.
- Experienced – ideally 3–5 years in a similar role.
- Safety-conscious and confident working with hazardous chemicals.
- Adaptable to working in challenging physical environments, including heights, confined spaces and working outdoors.
- Skilled in following detailed procedures and completing checklists.
- B1 & B2 License for counterbalance Fork Lift Truck (training can be provided).
- Basic IT skills using Excel, Word, Outlook.
