The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 Β£ per year.
The lubricant additives business unit's product portfolio includes synthetic base oils, lubricant additives, additive packages, and formulated lubricants. These are used in a wide variety of areas, including the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, metal processing, shipbuilding, and aviation. The lubricants are also used for engines, gearboxes, and other industrial applications in power generation, refrigeration, mining, construction, primary metal, and food processing industries. Lanxess is developing special solutions for these applications.
As an Analyst in our Quality Control department, you will be working to ensure the quality of our products pass testing, are properly documented, and pass quality approval. You will be responsible for final product testing and approval of finished products and participation in the evaluation of customer and development samples.
Main Responsibilities:
- Method development for new processes and products.
- Equipment maintenance and repair in the laboratory.
- Ensure the analysis for the site effluent is performed.
- Provide support for the production team with troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, including the reporting of all accidents, near misses, and incidents to the site management.
- Conduct risk and COSHH assessments.
- Documenting and reporting non-conforming products.
- Documenting and reporting extensions.
Requirements:
Ideally, you will have a background in the chemical industry or related process industries with a relevant apprenticeship or degree. The role will require you to be confident handling chemicals and equipment. You will have knowledge of GC and HPLC operation, including equipment maintenance and wet chemistry techniques, either from previous work experience or education. You must have good communication skills and be confident working closely with personnel across a range of departments and levels of seniority. Once you are fully competent and have completed the required training and can demonstrate suitable competence and experience, you will be required to work one Saturday in 5, which involves a salary increase.
