What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and coordinate BRC, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring successful preparation, delivery, and follow-up.
  • Own and enhance the site Quality Management System, including risk assessments, validations, and procedural governance.
  • Provide expert guidance on legal, customer and third-party technical standards.
  • Manage technical KPIs, trend data, and report performance insights to drive improvements.
  • Oversee the internal audit programme, ensuring it delivers clear and impactful continuous improvement.
  • Lead compliance activities around food safety, allergen control, HACCP, traceability and supplier assurance.
  • Champion and maintain the sites’ HACCP, VACCP/TACCP, allergen and recall/incident management plans.
  • Support mass balance exercises, microbiological monitoring, and testing programmes (nutritional, micro, allergen, water).
  • Own the NCR system and drive effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Coach, train and develop technical and operational teams, promoting strong compliance culture.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and support customer visits and non-conformance closure.
  • Lead and develop your direct reports across non-factory technical functions.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • HND/BSc/MSc in a food science or related discipline (desirable).
  • Advanced HACCP, Lead Auditor and VACCP/TACCP training.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and BRCGS standards.
  • Competency with MS Office and technical systems (experience with AX/Traceability/NCR advantageous).

Experience

  • A sound background in a technical or QA role within food manufacturing; bakery experience an advantage.
  • Proven success managing customer and third-party audits.
  • Experience in supplier assurance, compliance and customer-facing environments.
