The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
You will be fully responsible for the day to day running of your shift, as well as identifying and leading operational improvement opportunities for the business.
Shift: Pink Shift, we are a 24/7 operating bakery, 12-hour shifts covering days/nights and weekdays/weekends, on a two-week rota. Shift patterns are 4 days on, 3 days off, 3 days on, 4 days off.
Location: Lantmännen Unibake, Maidstone Road, Kingston, Milton Keynes, MK10 0BD.
You Will Be Great At
- Running to schedule, within the given time frames, whilst maintaining health and safety, food safety, quality, and customer service standards, with the agreed manning level.
- Promoting the delivery of Continuous Improvement manufacturing practices within the team (5 step, S.O. P’s, 5Y’s, SMED).
- Undertaking loss investigations/analysis against red numbers on OEE/Waste, using Continuous Improvement tools.
- Coaching, developing and leading your team, supporting the delivery of any training and development for your team.
- Promoting and supporting the introduction of multi-skilling across the business.
- Controlling and documentation of levels and accuracy of waste/waste recording including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and potential efficiency, accuracy & waste recording, downtime, product weights, staff productivity.
- Continuously identify ways to reduce costs in the business. Improve standards and ensure Quality Management Systems and procedures are followed in all areas of responsibility.
- Undertaking Accident and Near Miss investigations.
- Leading by example, demonstrating high standards of behaviour, honesty/integrity that develop and supports people through coaching and feedback.
- Assessing team-mate performance and support the delivery of any training and development initiatives for your team and to ensure all Health & Safety processes are followed.

You Have
- Leadership experience gained within a manufacturing, (food manufacturing desirable) production or FMCG.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrable experience in a people-management role with the ability to problem solve, report information/findings, develop recommendations, and implement process changes, as needed.
- Proven ability to gain strong results through team working.
- Communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills necessary to effectively deal with all levels of the organisation as well as cross-functional teams.
- Competent IT skills with daily use of MS office software; knowledge of ERP (AX Dynamics) systems desirable.
- Numerate & literate with the ability to calculate and interpret OEE’s, good analytical skills.
- A good understanding of relevant Food Safety & Health and Safety Legislation and codes of practice.
