This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, compliance and integrity of raw material and finished product specifications, artwork and customer technical information. Working closely with Technical Account Managers, NPD, Procurement and Production, you’ll help maintain high technical standards, support audit readiness and ensure customer and regulatory requirements are met — accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

  • Create, validate and maintain raw material and finished product specifications in line with customer, legislative and internal standards
  • Accurately input and manage data across retailer and foodservice specification systems (e.g. Oracle, Ashbury)
  • Generate pack copy briefs and review finished artwork against specifications and critical path timelines
  • Maintain customer portals and internal systems, ensuring all information is current and accurate
  • Complete scheduled specification reviews (minimum annually)
  • Set up and approve raw material specifications and supplier SAQs
  • Respond to technical queries and support customer requests, audits and site visits
  • Conduct internal audits as part of the site audit team
  • Support complaint logging, KPI reporting and technical analysis
  • Maintain quality master data in AX
  • Provide technical documentation (SSAQs, audit certificates, RSPO, Halal, packaging information)
  • Support Technical Account Managers and contribute to training and knowledge sharing
  • Be an active, collaborative member of the LUUK Technical team

You’ll bring a strong technical foundation, excellent attention to detail and a collaborative, professional approach.

Essential experience and skills

  • Experience in the food industry
  • Hands‑on use of customer specification systems
  • At least 1 year in a similar specifications or technical role
  • Good knowledge of food safety, allergens, HACCP and food legislation
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Highly organised, accurate and comfortable working to deadlines

Desirable qualifications

  • HND, BSc or MSc in Food Science or related discipline
  • Level 2 HACCP and Food Safety certification
  • Internal Auditor qualification

Working pattern

Primarily based at Bedford, with travel to other LUUK sites Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week between 08:00 and 17:00. Some flexibility required to support a 24/7 operation.
