Location

  • Hybrid 2/3 days in the office (LS1 & LS28)
  • Job Purpose

Support Lantern’s 2nd Line of Defence to help the business grow safely and responsibly.

Completion of compliance activity in line with the plan and other activity to provide assurance that risks are understood and mitigated.

  • Role Accountabilities
  • Completion of compliance monitoring reviews, including terms of reference, testing, establishing materiality of findings and supporting stakeholders to understand the importance.
  • Completion of horizon scanning, analysis of regulation or regulatory change to inform the business of impacts.
  • Complete assurance checks on Lantern Group suppliers in line with the supplier monitoring plan (and at onboarding of new suppliers).
  • Supporting Senior Management with risk incident or regulatory breach activity.
  • Understand and elevate any control failures to ensure risk register is contemporary and Senior Managers have the information they need to make the right decisions.
  • Produce quality written reports that communicate findings and risks in a clear and concise manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to maintain the credibility of Lantern’s 2nd Line of Defence.
  • Ensure actions are tracked from inception through to implementation, obtaining and keeping evidence of decision making.
  • Assist the Head of Compliance to create content for relevant committees.
  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships across the business functions through effective communication.
  • Develop and sustain a sound understanding of key legislation and regulation pertinent to Lantern (FCA, ICO, OFCOM etc.) and keep abreast of industry changes.
  • Champion a culture of compliance and support the First Line of Defence to understand and mitigate its risks.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a previous role providing assurance in a regulated environment.
  • Judgement and decision making – ability to make decisions or recommendations on materiality and impact (with reference to clear supporting information and regulation).
  • Agility – ability to move from one task to the next at pace, comfortable with more than one activity on the to‑do list.
  • Understanding of the consumer credit / debt purchase sector.
  • Computer literate and competent with Excel, Outlook and Visio.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to understand and interpret regulation.
  • Ability to prioritise workload to achieve deadlines.
