Required to start from September 2026. The Lantern Community Primary School has vacancies for Teaching Assistant staff to start in the new academic year - these are term-time only roles with brilliant opportunities. Various hours available - up to 30 hours per week. Actual Salary (based on 30 hours per week): £16,587 - £17,949 (Grades 4-5, Points 3-7) Meridian Trust Support Staff Salary Scale.

We currently have vacancies for the new academic year at The Lantern Community Primary School - various hours are available and these are term-time only posts. These are opportunities to make a real difference to the learning and progress, working to provide one-to-one and group support for our pupils. You will be part of a fantastic team of teaching and support staff. You will enjoy adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach, and being adaptable to pupils' needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school - you will work closely with our SENDCo and Teaching Assistant team to provide our pupils with the best possible educational opportunities. You will be responsible to the Headteacher.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will possess GCSE English & Mathematics Grade C (4/5) or above.
  • Will possess a Teaching Assistant qualification or show a willingness to work towards this.
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEND and/or behavioural needs.
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team.
  • Can be adaptable and resourceful.
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues.
