This is an exciting and diverse job, with the opportunity to work on landscape scale projects across the north of England. Forestry England is already engaged in a number of important and high-profile nature recovery projects in Cumbria, including Wild Ennerdale, the Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery project, and Nature Rich Miterdale. The Nature Recovery Manager role will lead, co-ordinate and develop their active involvement in these partnerships, ensuring they support delivery of their Biodiversity plan, forest plans and wider objectives. In addition, the successful candidate will also focus on establishing and developing new projects where Forestry England has the potential to be involved, both on their land and through working with local partners.
Current opportunities:
- Part time work available near Penrith for a self-employed chainsaw hand cutter, fully trained with tickets for chainsaw, windblow, strimmer, tractor, winch, spraying, chipper as a minimum requirement. Location is near Penrith in Cumbria.
- We’re looking for a Community Forester to help deliver woodland creation and management projects across Raise: Cumbria Community Forest. This role will support the delivery of woodland creation and restoration projects with landowners, contractors, communities and volunteers.
- We’re looking for an Operations Manager to help lead and deliver forestry services across Raise: Cumbria Community Forest. This role will lead woodland creation, management and monitoring projects across Cumbria, working with a range of funding programmes, partners and contractors.
- The Project Officer will be the focal point for the Trust's work on woodland creation and tree planting. They will develop projects and work closely with other organisations active in woodland creation to drive a strategic approach to riparian woodland creation in the Lune catchment.
