Lansdowne Primary Academy is part of the GLC Gateway Learning Community, a partnership of five academies in Thurrock. The academy is dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive environment for pupils with social communication needs and autism. The role is a permanent full‑time position supporting pupils’ emotional, social and learning development.
Responsibilities
- Work flexibly with the class teacher to deliver personalised teaching plans for pupils with additional needs.
- Support pupils’ literacy, numeracy and behaviour in the classroom.
- Carry out and record observations to inform and evaluate each pupil’s progress.
- Apply a positive behaviour management ethos and total communication approach.
- Utilise ICT resources to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaboration with the central support team (reprographics, ICT, HR, Finance) to ensure efficient teaching and learning.
Qualifications and Experience
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) – essential.
- Good standard of education; Maths and English GCSE grades A–C, or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with additional needs and challenging behaviours.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and ICT skills.
- Commitment to high achievement for both students and staff.
