Lansdowne Biotechnics Limited has an exciting opportunity for a fresh or early-stage Graduate Radio Frequency Engineer to join our company, initially working on a project to design and build a wireless power transfer system using novel electronics and physical principles. You would be working closely with Inductive Power Projection Ltd. creating something completely new and of great benefit to the environment!
Working on novel technologies in magnetic resonance, you will be able to interact with academic leaders in the technology, working to realise a product of a proven prototype design in autonomous vehicles, robotics and renewable energy systems.
The successful applicant will be tasked with building the power electronics to an existing design that produces kilowatts of power at MHz frequency. Building the magnetic resonator unit to a novel, patented design that is quite extraordinary in its performance. Over the product development phase, the project will start from a simple test-bed design, to get the basics right, learning vital lessons, and then move through stages of increasing sophistication towards a final product that will be used in real-world applications!

LB aim to begin commercialisation of the products, so there is potential for the successful applicant to become an outstanding product innovator in the sector, leading the production, quality and design teams for LB into the future. The role will be based in the modern Enterprise Space for Advance Manufacturing in St. Austell.
We are looking for a Graduate in a closely related engineering discipline. This could be electrical, mechanical, renewable or automotive engineering.
The skills of particular benefit would be:
- Prototyping, Soldering, hands-on experience
- Good knowledge of Manufacturing/Fabrication methods
- Relevant experience and/or understanding of R&D building of power electronics
- Mathematical ability
- Experience of CAD and computer simulation - particularly COMSOL for predictive modelling and SolidWorks for mechanical design
Desired Experience and attributes:
- Working in a small team, you will need to be a self-starter who is able to operate remotely from management.
- Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to move products through the phases of development to commercialisation.
- Someone who has done an apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of serial and wireless digital communication.
- UK Driving License.
