We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help ensure the long-term financial sustainability of our charity. Our work connects residents to a range of activities and services that improve health and well-being, preventing hospital admissions and secondary care. We partner with local organisations, groups and practitioners to enable, empower, and support the community by providing safe, inclusive, person-centred activities that nurture growth and improve health and wellbeing.

  • Financial, accounting, commercial, or senior management experience (a formal qualification is welcome but not essential).

  • A collaborative approach and commitment to the charity’s values and purpose.

Commitment

Commit to Board meetings, sub-committee meetings, and preparation time. This is a voluntary role, but the opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact, apply your skills for social good, and contribute to the leadership of a mission-driven organisation. What will you be doing?

As Treasurer, you will play a vital leadership role, providing strategic financial oversight and assurance, and supporting the Board to make sound, informed decisions. Working closely with the Chair, Trustees and senior staff, you will help ensure that the charity’s resources are managed responsibly and aligned with our mission.

The role is voluntary and the time commitment will involve:

  • Attending monthly board meetings and our AGM.
  • Attendance at specific sub groups/committees.
  • Overall average time commitment of maximum 6-8 hours per month including training.
  • Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with Charity Commission guidelines.

What You Will Do

  • Provide strategic oversight of the charity’s finances, supporting effective planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure the Board receives clear, accurate financial information, including budgets and annual accounts.
  • Oversee financial controls, policies, reserves, and investment arrangements.
  • Support compliance with statutory, regulatory, and funder requirements.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Finance and chair the Finance and Governance Sub-Committee.
