Location: Head Office, 5th Floor, Queen Elizabeth House, 4 St Dunstan’s Hill, London, EC3R 8AD.
Reports to: Recruiter Team Leader.
Department: OPI/VRI.
Main Job Purpose: To ensure the timely recruitment of freelance, home-based telephone interpreters in accordance with business requirements and to an agreed quality standard.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the UK and LanguageLine Solutions US teams to guide candidates through a six-stage recruitment process.
- Source candidates who meet designated criteria to become freelance OPI Interpreters; be creative and innovative in locating candidates for rarer languages.
- Conduct initial phone interviews and English Language Tests to determine if candidates meet criteria for the assessment process.
- Determine candidate availability for the Interpreter Skills Assessment in their target language.
- Respond to correspondence from interpreters and US team colleagues regarding applications and provide necessary information to all parties.
- Coordinate Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and ensure all relevant paperwork is issued and completed.
- Ensure candidates complete required paperwork and joining requirements for New Hire Orientation.
- Record candidate progress in the six-stage process on Taleo (internal recruitment database) and tracking spreadsheets.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports on recruitment progress.
- Operate in a targeted environment with monthly recruitment targets.
- Assist with other ad-hoc duties as required by the department.
- Handle personal data in compliance with GDPR; report any data security incidents and follow the Information Security Policy in the Staff Handbook.
- Perform any other duties appropriate to the position.

Essential:
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
- Experience in a busy/high-pressure role.
- Calm, focused under pressure.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities in a busy environment.

- Independent worker able to take responsibility.
- Telephone interviewing skills.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Three years of recruitment experience.
