Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and professional interpreting during face‑to‑face appointments in healthcare, legal, and community environments.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
  • Ensure cultural sensitivity and effective communication between all parties.
  • Uphold professional standards in line with industry codes of conduct.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, BSL (Sign Language), Bulgarian, Cantonese, Dari, Farsi, French, Hungarian, Kurdish, Malayalam, Mandarin, Pashto, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Singhalese, Somali, Spanish, Tamil, Tigrinya, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese.
  • Recognised interpreting qualification (e.g., DPSI, Community Interpreting Level 3+, CIOL/CITTI membership, NRPSI registration, or equivalent).
  • Previous interpreting experience (face‑to‑face preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and flexible.
  • Ability to travel locally for in‑person assignments.
  • Experience in healthcare or legal interpreting is preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
