Are you an experienced accountant looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, multicultural environment? We are seeking a skilled German speaking accountant to join our international team based in London - Westminster (hybrid work). This is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate group of professionals in the conference and event industry. This is a 6 month FTC with a great opportunity to become permanent for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generating weekly financial summaries for management
  • Managing transactions in multiple currencies
  • Preparing and filing monthly VAT returns and German VAT compliance
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements
  • Handling accruals, provisions, and prepayments independently
  • Supporting month-end closings and annual financial statements (HGB)
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects

About you

  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting
  • Solid understanding of general ledger and sub-ledger systems
  • Familiarity with German VAT rules and inter-company processes
  • Strong Excel skills and openness to learning new tools
  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently
